We will work wholeheartedly to reform nursing and achieve the Future Vision of Nursing 2040.

As the population continues to age and the need for health care and long-term care increases, it is our specialty as nursing professionals, with our perspectives of both health care and living, to support people in decision-making that enable them to live their lives as they wish. Such support is not limited to the elderly but is essential for all people in the community at all stages of life. In the Future Vision of Nursing 2040, we have set three goals for 2040 for nursing professionals to endeavor: (1) lifelong support respecting individuality, (2) autonomous judgments and practice as professionals, and (3) collaboration with multiple professionals as a key person. As nursing professionals, it is not only our responsibility but also our privilege to support people in leading healthy and happy lives. I sincerely hope that this noble profession of nursing will be better understood by society and that many of the young people who will lead the next generation will choose nursing as their career.
We will dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to all reforms necessary to realize this vision.

To our members and nursing professionals
The well-being of nursing professionals is essential because nursing supports and sustains human life, living, and dignity.

In order for nursing professionals to play their roles in various settings throughout their careers and help realize a society where everyone can live their lives that suit them, nursing professionals must be ensured of their state of well-being, which encompassed good health and happiness. It is desirable for them to be able to balance their work and personal lives, with both enriching their lives. The Japanese Nursing Association will respond quickly to urgent issues such as improving the working environment, conditions and pay commensurate with work, and will also focus on improving professional quality through life-long learning and proactive career development.
I hope that as many nursing professionals as possible will agree with our vision , support us, and become our members.
